Staying Together

In a happy relationship there is a sense of calm and stability which keeps a couple together.

 
Again some hormones are involved:
 
“The cuddling chemical” – oxytocin is released by both genders when cuddling and touching.
 
“The monogamy chemical” – vasopressin has to do with being faithful;  suppression of vasopressin can cause a male to abandon the love nest and seek a new mate.
 
High levels of those two chemicals might interfere with more activating compounds and this may explain why – with time – attachment grows as passionate love fades.
 
 
Trofasthedens  Kemi
 
I et godt forhold vil man ofte opleve en følelse af ro og stabilitet, som får parret til at holde sammen, længe efter den euforiske stemning er blegnet.
 
Igen spiller hormoner en rolle:
 
Ved berøring og kæleri udskiller begge køn ”kælekemikaliet” oxytocin, mens vasopressin har med trofasthed at gøre. Undertrykker man det hos en han, forlader han måske reden for at finde en ny partner.
 
Måske interfererer disse to hormoner med mere aktiverende stoffer så trofasthed med tiden afløser den euforiske stemning.
